Collaborating Across Borders VIII - Call for Abstracts!

The Planning Committee of the 2023 Collaborating Across Borders VIII Conference is currently seeking submissions from a diverse representation of disciplines, organizations and experiences for posters, oral presentations, workshops, and symposiums. All submitted abstracts will be vetted through a blind-review process and evaluated by individuals from across the interprofessional health education community. Abstracts can be submitted from August 1 through October 3, 2022

The eighth Collaborating Across Borders (CAB VIII) conference will be held virtually from May 15–18, 2023. CABVIII is hosted by the University of Toronto’s Centre for Advancing Collaborative Healthcare and Education (CACHE) in collaboration with the Canadian Interprofessional Health Collaborative (CIHC) and the American Interprofessional Health Collaborative (AIHC). The theme of the conference is Hope and Trust in Health and Social Care. CAB VIII continues the tradition of focusing on advances in interprofessional practice and education, research and innovation, and policy, systems and leadership with a newly added francophone stream.

Virtual Interprofessional Care: A feasibility study with the COV-PICS clinic

Post Intensive Care Syndrome (PICS) is a disabling condition affecting ICU survivors after discharge.Obtaining support and treatment for PICS is challenging both for patients and their families. Our interprofessional team designed a virtual PICS clinic to help Covid-19 ICU survivors and to study its feasibility.

Schwartz Center Rounds are a multidisciplinary forum where professional caregivers discuss difficult issues that arise in caring for patients with the goal of improving the caregiver and patient relationship. The topic discussed for October is Giving and Receiving:  The Story of a Transplant Candidate Who Became an Organ Donor

The Schwartz Center Rounds' October iteration will take place on October 12, 2022 at the EPNEC Auditorium. Pre-registration is required. Box lunch will be provided for those who complete pre-registration.
